How Does Fast Food Affect The Economy?
Think how much money is spent at just one McDonald's in an hour. Think how many McDonald's there are. There are 33,000 McDonald’s restaurants in the world. The McDonalds web site quotes “McDonald’s is the leading global foodservice retailer with more than 33,000 local restaurants serving nearly 68 million people in 119 countries each day.” Well at Mcdonalds on an average day they make about 8,000 dollars on average. That equals out to 264,000,000 dollars made everyday in the world. Think how many jobs are being created because of the demand for fast food. It may not be good for us, but it sure does keep the dollars moving.
The affects if McDonalds closed:
Mcdonalds creates tons of job. McDonald's has 447,000 employees worldwide all of those people would be out of work. Potato farmers would definitely have problems since they give their produce to McDonalds companies. Probably an increase in taxes because of all the people no longer paying through payroll checks. Family budget would include a larger grocery budget. Cook book sales will go up because we all will need new recipes. Sit down restaurants would probably have to focus on real customer service again as their business increases. On the other hand Americans may lose weight. Women can once again count on "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach," and families would eat at home more / spend more time together
Now there are positives and negative affects on how McDonalds or any fast food restaurant affect the economy. People may lose weight but taxes may go up. As you can see there are positives and negatives of having fast food restaurants.
